Described as a “thought provoking journey into the psyche of an artist and the human condition – expressed through choreography”, Michael Ralph’s dance theatre production SELF premieres September.
This production incorporates the talents of three outstanding young performers. Ralph (Dusty, Georgy Girl, Loving Repeating) is director and choreographer; Jack Earle (The Jack Earle Big Band) provides an original modern-jazz inspired score; and Rohan Browne (Singin’ In the Rain, Strictly Ballroom) performs the leading role of “The Artist”, supported by an ensemble of six dancers.
This show is Ralph’s third original all-dance production – previous shows being Hollywood Honky-Tonk (2014) and Now & Then (2013) – and it plays at Melbourne’s Chapel off Chapel from September 21 to October 1 as part of Melbourne’s Fringe Festival.
