Ralph Fiennes directs Nureyev film
Here's something to look out for: a new bio pic about Rudolph Nureyev. Called The White Crow, the film is written by veteran English playwright David Hare and based on Julie Kavanagh's biography Rudolph Nureyev: the life. The plot concentrates on the dancer's defection to the West from Russia in the 1960s.
Russian dancer Oleg Ivenko, soloist of the ballet company of the M. Jalil Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan in Russia, plays the charismatic star.
The White Crow is directed by Ralph Fiennes, who will also play Pushkin, Nureyev's teacher and mentor. He is joined by French actress Adele Exarchopoulos, Russian actress Chulpan Khamatova and world-renowned dancer Sergei Polunin. The choreographer is by Christopher Wheeldon. The film is to be filmed in Paris and Russia.
