Apply for unique Adelaide/Sydney residency
South Australia's contemporary dance organisation The Mill is offering a new, two-part residency to an artist, thanks to an exciting partnership with Brand X.
Brand X is a Sydney-based organisation which repurposes empty properties so performing, recording and visual artists can practise their craft. It works with property developers, landlords and local government to provide subsidised workspace and creative development programs alongside facilities for hire where artists can traverse the entire creative process from development to presentation.
The partnership with The Mill will provide one artist with a development residency at the Mill for two to three weeks, followed by a one week residency plus a performance season at Brand X’s Flying Nun program, in September 2022. The whole scheme is worth over $27,000.
The successful applicant will receive a $5000 honorarium, funding for two design collaborators and materials, two weeks' full use of The Mill's Breakout theatre with technical and marketing support, return flights, accommodation and a two-night performance season at the East Sydney Community and Arts Centre in September.
Applications are already open and close March 21.
