AUDITION FOR 'WEST SIDE STORY'!

One of the most loved and celebrated musicals of all time, West Side Story, will take to the stages of Melbourne and Sydney in 2019 and submissions to audition are already being invited.

This production is directed and choreographed by Joey McKneely. His involvement with the  show goes back to being a dancer under the original choreographer, Jerome Robbins, in 1988. He was responsible for this major revival of the production in 2000, and has been involved ever since. He has said “the original choreography is perfect”.

West Side Story is being presented under the auspices of GWB Entertainment and Opera Australia and will play at the Arts Centre Melbourne from April 6 to 28, 2019, and at the Sydney Opera House from August 16 to October 6, 2019. (This production is not to be confused with Opera Australia's own new production of West Side Story, directed by Francesca Zambello, to be held as this year's Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour from March 22 to April 21.)

Auditions begin in Sydney from Tuesday August 21 and Melbourne from August 28.
