Young Australian dancer Joshua Green shone brightly at the 2018 Genée International Ballet Competition. Trained by Karen Ireland at Karen Ireland Dance Centre, the 17 year old took home both a gold medal and the Choreographic Award for best Dancer’s Own variation.

New Zealand candidate Monet Hewitt (16 yrs), trained by Joye Lowe at Philippa Campbell School of Ballet was also awarded a gold medal at the prestigious competition which was held in Hong Kong last weekend.

The silver medallists were Caitlin Garlick (15 yrs) from Australia, trained by Karen Ireland at Karen Ireland Dance Centre, and Basil James (16 yrs) from the UK, trained by the Faculty of Tring Park School.

Bronze medals were awarded to Enoka Sato (16 yrs) from Japan, trained by Annette Roselli at Annette Roselli Dance Academy, and Jordan Yeuk Hay Chan (16 yrs) from Hong Kong, trained by Yui Man Cheung at Jean M Wong School of Ballet.

Congratulations, too, to the following Australian and New Zealander candidates who made the final of the competition:
Lily Carbone (15 yrs), Australian, trained by Juanita Moore at Classical Coaching Australia
Breana Drummond (17 yrs), New Zealander, trained by Marie Walton Mahon at Tanya Pearson Academy
Chloe Jackson (18 yrs), British, trained by Heidi Landford at Atelier Australia
Lucinda Worthing-Shore (15 yrs), Australian, trained by Marie Walton Mahon at Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching.
