Karul Projects is about to embark on an extensive tour of Queensland, with a new work called SILENCE, choreographed by the company's founder, E.S. Kelly, along with collaborators.

SILENCE is described as "an entry point to First Nations human rights, our struggle, and call for Treaty. SILENCE breaks the SILENCE". Seven performers take to a stage that is slowly engulfed by dirt, representing the call for "land back".

The tour begins at HOTA Home of the Arts on the Gold Coast on August 31 and will include live and digital performances as well as workshops along Queensland’s east coast. "Dynamic live percussion drives the dancers' exploration of past, present, alternate realities and dreamscapes of the milky way and Murun, the emu in the sky."

HOTA Home Of The Arts, Gold Coast (31 August - 1 September)
Bulmba-ja Arts Centre, Cairns (7 September) (presented in partnership with Cairns Indigenous Art Fair, CIAF)
