The Cecchetti Ballet Australia National Lucie Saronova Memorial Award 2012 was held this year in Perth, at the Dolphin Theatre, University of WA, on July 13.

 The annual award is adjudicated at two levels, Silver and Gold, with students at both levels participating in a closed class during the afternoon followed by an on stage performance of two solos each in the evening.

 The adjudicators were Jayne Smeulders (a leading dancer with the WA Ballet) and the Scotland-based Vincent Hantam (formerly with Scottish and NAPAC Ballet companies). They expressed their delight at the standard, intelligence and execution they observed throughout the class and performance.

 Silver prizes awarded as follows:

Winner: Saskia Harman, from WA, (taught by Simone Jackson-Pike, Janine Ban, Perth School of Ballet)
Runner Up: Isabella Doosey, NSW, (taught by Valerie Jenkins and Nina Goodwin)
Honourable Mention: Chloe Michelle Hollow, NSW, (taught by Monique Feain)
Honourable Mention: Shaylee Mills, WA, (taught by Lani McGeady and the Toodyay Ballet School).

Gold prizes awarded as follows:

Winner: Lola Howard-Beattie, from WA, (taught by Beth James, WA Conservatoire of Classical Ballet)
Runner Up: Grace Robinson, NSW, (taught by Robyn Ross, Valerie Jenkins and Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy)
Honourable Mention: Kenji Wilkie, NSW, (taught by Hilary Kaplan, Archie McKenzie and Alegria School of Ballet)
Honourable Mention: Kate Arber, Vic (taught by Anne Butler, Carole Oliver and The Victorian College of the Arts, Secondary Program.)
