Dancing through time
Anyone who has seen Joseph Simons perform will know that he is a charismatic dancer who combines technical prowess with a wonderful sense of comedy.
As the title suggests, his new work,
100 Years of the History of Dance as Told by One Man in 60 Minutes With an Energetic Group Finale, takes a light-hearted look at a century of dance history . . . through the eyes of a schoolboy presenting a report on the topic of his choice.
Blending theatre and dance, 100 Years of the History of Dance explores the lives of choreographers such as Martha Graham, Bob Fosse, Rudolf Nureyev, Pina Bausch, Gene Kelly and Paula Abdul, and promises plenty of Simons’s trademark physical comedy.
