While in Australia performers are cautiously returning to the stage, in New Zealand events are still being put on hold because of the Omicron variant. The Royal New Zealand Ballet has just postponed its triple bill of "Venus Rising" for the fourth time - scheduled for February and March, it will now be moved to Nov/Dec. The program includes The Autumn Ball, by the company's choreographer in Residence, Sarah Foster-Sproull, Aurum, by the Australian Ballet's choreographer in residence, Alice Topp, and the New Zealand premiere of Waterbaby Bagatelles, by Twyla Tharp.

For now, watch this lovely video of the company in class, recorded just before NZ's Red Traffic Light settings came into place in New Zealand (11.59pm on 23 January. It's lovely!
