Sydney Dance Company and Carriageworks will combine forces to present the fifth incarnation of “New Breed” at the end of this month, a season established in 2014 to support emerging Australian choreographers.

“New Breed 2018” will see the creation of new works by independent choreographers Prue Lang and Katina Olsen and SDC company dancers Holly Doyle and Janessa Dufty.

Prue Lang has lived in France for many years and has had work commissioned at Theatre National de Chaillot, TATE Modern London, Frankfurt Ballet, Rencontres Choregraphiques Internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis Paris and Chunky Move Australia among others. She has recently moved back to Australia with her French partner. Italian producer and DJ, Chiara Kickdrum is creating the score for Prue’s work

Katina Olsen is a Wakka Wakka and Kombumerri choreographer/dancer and also has Norwegian ancestry. Katina’s choreographic interests lie in the fusions of her Indigenous cultural dance and storytelling with contemporary dance. Katina was a Bangarra dancer for several years before embarking on a choreographic career.

“New Breed 2018” plays Carriageworks, 29 November to 8 December. More: www.carriageworks.com.au/   www.sydneydancecompany.com
