Congratulations to Australian dancer and emerging choreographer Samuel Young-Wright who has taken third prize at choreography 34-34 International Choreographic Competition Hannover, in Germany, for his work Carnegie Solo.

Young-Wright has also received an invitation to bring Carnegie Solo to Solo Coreografico, Exposure Price, Dance Festival Frankfurt Edition 2020.

Carnegie Solo is Young-Wright's answer to the celebrated American pianist Keith Jarrett's solo concerto, performed on September 26, 2005 in the Isaac Stern Auditorium in New York's Carnegie Hall. Inspired by Jarrett's spontaneous, imaginative solo improvisations, Carnegie Solo explores a number of juxtaposed physical states, provides insight into the human psyche, and offers a broader understanding of the individual.
