LilySophia Dashwood wins RAD Bursary
LilySophia Dashwood has been chosen out of six finalists from across Australia as the winner of the 2022 Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 1 Bursary winner. The talented young dancer wins $5000 toward her dance training.
The competition, which took place on line this year, was judged by RAD Artistic Director Gerard Charles and former Principal Artist with the Australian Ballet, Kirsty Martin. Their assessment followed an initial round of adjudication by Amber Scott (Principal, Australian Ballet), Catherine Goss (former Associate Artistic Director, West Australian Ballet), and Lana Jones and Olivia Bell (both former Principals with the Australian Ballet). They praised the training, technique and performance qualities of all the candidates, and commended the hard work of both students and teachers in preparation.
LilySophia is from Melbourne and is trained by Jane Moore and her mother Andie Dashwood. She comes from a dancing family - big sister Isobelle won the RAD Australian Advanced 1 Bursary in 2011 and is now a soloist with the Australian Ballet. Brother Charlie is in the Australian Ballet School!
