After a successful world tour across Sydney, the Kimberley, Melbourne, Venice, Hamburg and Berlin, Marrugeku is bringing its critically acclaimed Jurrungu Ngan-ga (Straight Talkin) closer to home: to Perth's Heath Ledger Theatre.

Co-created with Yawuru leader, Patrick Dodson, former Manus Island detainee Behrouz Boochani, and Iranian-Australian scholar-activist Omid Tofighian, this is an exquisite work of great sophistication that throbs with sadness, anger and joy. It is directed by Rachel Swain and choreographed by Dalisa Pilgram alongside the performers: Czack (Ses) Bero, Emmanuel James Brown, Chandler Connell, Luke Currie-Richardson, Issa el Assaad, Zachary Lopez (previous), Macon Escobal Riley (present), Bhenji Ra, Feras Shaheen and Miranda Wheen.

This provocative new dance theatre work is designed by leading Western Australian visual artist Abdul-Rahman Abdullah and fuses complex choreography, searing dialogue and a blood-pumping musical soundscape.

Jurrungu Ngan-ga will run from September 15-23. For more info, go here.
