Police Investigate Allegations Against Sydney Dance Teacher

Comments Comments

NSW Police are investigating allegations of inappropriate behaviour by a Sydney dance teacher, including claims of grooming underage students, supplying drugs and alcohol, and sending explicit messages.

The allegations, brought forward by three former students of a Sydney dance studio, date back to incidents alleged to have occurred between 2017 and 2022. According to police, an investigation into allegations of sexual touching has commenced, but no further details are being provided at this time.

A lawyer representing the dance teacher has denied all allegations on behalf of their client.

The students allege that the teacher began offering them professional guidance and personal support when they were aged between 15 and 17. They claim the teacher’s behaviour became increasingly inappropriate, including sending explicit images and messages, encouraging secrecy, and providing alcohol and cocaine to a minor.

These serious allegations have sparked concern in the dance community and beyond, with a petition circulating on Change.org calling for action in response to the claims.

NSW Police have urged anyone with information relevant to the investigation to come forward.
