Perth dancers Emma Sandall and Cass Mortimer Eipper, otherwise known as Ludwig, are about to present their latest creation at the Subiaco Arts Centre. Called Fleck&Flecker, it is a duet which they began creating during an artistic residency in Vienna last year.
According to their website: “It is a piece about…partnership. From the personal to the political. It is physical and animated and physically animated. It touches and touches on, moves through around and with, ideas about getting together, staying together, morphing, growing, adapting and compromising. With Ludwig’s signature twist, Fleck&Flecker incorporates projected animation, absurdist and sketchy, like the minds of its creators.”
Sandall and Eipper are both accomplished classical dancers who have taken their artform in an inventive and unique direction since teaming up as choreographers. Flecker&Flecker combines the pair's unique style with their own stylised animation and poetic, absurdist contemplations. The original sound score was created in collaboration with Daniel Gullaci, who recently returned to Perth after five years with Cirque du Soleil.
