Applications are now being sought for the inaugural Ausdance Peggy van Praagh Choreographic Fellowship.
$10,000 will be awarded annually to a mid-career choreographer (must be over 35 years) working either independently or with a company. Expressions of interest are invited from eligible choreographers who can demonstrate the value of the fellowship to their own choreographic development /practice /career.

Applications close 23 July 2012 and the fellowship will be announced at the Australian Dance Awards in Perth 1 September.
Dame Peggy was the founding artistic director of the Australian Ballet (1962) and dedicated much of her professional life to fostering young Australian choreographers in ballet and contemporary dance. Her vision of developing a unique dance culture for Australian dance has had lasting implications for future generations.
The bequest was made to Ausdance National by the trustees of Dame Peggy's estate with the specific purpose of supporting Australian choreographic development.
