The story of Cinderella has something to appeal to all, its choreographer tells Karen van Ulzen.

Alexei Ratmansky’s Cinderella for the Australian Ballet (AB) is the company’s big new commission for the year – always an exciting event. However, it is not Ratmansky’s first Cinderella. He created one back in 2002, when he was still virtually unknown as a choreographer. It was his first three-act ballet and is still popular in Russia. However, the choreographer has been quoted as saying (in an interview with Debra Crane of London’s The Times), that he was surprised his production had lasted so long and that he would have done it all differently now...
