There isn't much Amy Campbell hasn't conquered in the field of dance entertainment. She has been a dancer, choreographer and director in theatre, musicals and TV, appeared in commercials for Sony, Vodafone, Coca Cola, Kmart and others and was an ambassador for Lorna Jane’s Active Living Campaign. She has choreographed for Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Opera Australia and danced alongside the likes of Kylie Minogue, Flo Rida, Redfoo, Tina Arena, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Sam Sparro and Sam and The Womp. Recently she was resident director for Hamilton in Australia.

As if that's not enough to keep her busy, she has also created, choreographed and directed a new show called leap, which is about to make its premiere at Parramatta Riverside Theatres in Sydney on April 22.

leap is the realisation of a project Campbell has been thinking and dreaming about for five years. The show brings together an ensemble of 10 talented dancers with four virtuoso concert musicians playing a combination of piano, cello, beats and violin. The score is classical music "reimagined for a new world, broken apart to be rearranged". The result is described as "a dynamic soundtrack that honours and delights in so many familiar, beloved musical themes – from Beethoven, Bach, Vivaldi, Debussy and more – motifs that exist in our collective subconscious, reworked to interweave with the exhilarating combination of story and movement". The dancers are Ashley Goh, Callum Mooney, Cassandra Merwood, Felicia Stav, Maikolo Fekitoa, Natalie Foti, Neven Connolly, Shontaya Smedley, Jervis Livelo and Ryan Ophel.

leap is produced by Neil Gooding, international theatre director, producer, and writer. He was the chairman and one of the founding members of Hayes Theatre Co in Sydney and is the head of New Musicals Australia (which supports the development of original Australian musicals).

After its debut in Sydney, leap goes on an extensive tour of NSW and Qld regional towns until July 2.
