Matthew Bourne’s celebrated reinterpretation of Swan Lake is to be released on the big screen in Australia as a 3D film.
The ballet, which marshalls a field of male rather than female swans, is the longest running ballet to have been on the West End in London and Broadway in New York. The 3D film version creates an illusion of space around the dancers, drawing you onto the stage and bringing a dramatic realism to the story.
The lead swan is performed by English dancer Richard Winsor, whose good looks and trained body have led him into an acting and modelling career as well as dance. He studied at the Central School of Ballet and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and joined Bourne’s company, Adventures in Motion Pictures, in 2001. He starred in the hit UK film Streetdance and in the UK soap Hollyoaks.
Swan Lake in 3D is screening for two sessions only: Saturday 5th + Sunday 6th May 1pm. Book now to avoid disappointment.
