To mark the 25th anniversary of the Phantom of the Opera, Event Cinemas and Universal Pictures are bringing a film of the acclaimed musical to the big screen for a strictly limited engagement.
Cinema audiences will have the opportunity to see a special live stage production of the musical performed at London’s Royal Albert Hall, starring Ramin Karimloo as the Phantom and Sierra Boggess as Christine (Andrew Lloyd Weber’s original picks for first cast for the sequel, Love Never Dies). It will be filmed on Sunday, October 2, then receive its Australian premiere at the State Theatre in Sydney on Sunday October 9. This will be followed an 11 day engagement showing at Event Cinemas from Thursday, 13 October.

Meanwhile, the Australian production of Love Never Dies will wind up its Melbourne season at the Regent Theatre on December 18, after which it moves to the equally ornate Capitol Theatre in Sydney in January for a 20 week season.
