After a nationwide search, the Tap Brothers have been cast for the 2013 Australian tour of Hot Shoe Shuffle.
In the role of Slap is Morgan Junor-Larwood who is a recent graduate of the Australian Institute of Music and has appeared in Stories from the Westside, A Winter’s Tale and Three Sisters.
The loveable rogue, Buck, will be played by Rob Mallett. Mallett is a 2012 graduate from West Australian Academy of Performing Arts and a true ‘triple threat’. Whilst at WAAPA, Rob played major roles in a number of their productions including Xanadu and Into the Woods.
The perfectionist Tap Brother, Wing, will be played by Mitchell Hicks whose career began aged 11 playing Young Peter Allen in the original production of The Boy From Oz in 1998. Other theatre credits include Jolson and Singin’ in the Rain.
Youthful Tip will be played by Alexander Kermond who kick started his tap dance career in Dein Perry’s Tap Dogs and is part of the legendary Kermond show biz family.
Max Patterson will be taking to the Hot Shoe Shuffle stage as Tap. He was last seen performing in The Helpmann Awards.
The baby of the seven tap brothers, Slide, will be played by 17 year old Mason Schaube. Hot Shoe Shuffle is Mason’s debut into professional musical theatre. He began dancing at the age of three and is studied in all facets of dance.
The six performers join previously announced cast members David Atkins, Jaz Flowers and Bobby Fox.
Hot Shoe Shuffle opens in Queensland on May 4, Sydney July 10 and Melbourne August 10.
