Arts House EOIs invited
Melbourne’s Arts House, the multi-arts performance venue based in the old North Melbourne Town Hall, is calling for Expressions of Interest for its CultureLAB and The Warehouse Residency for 2024.
CultureLAB is a creative development program that supports independent artists, collectives and small-medium organisations to create new work. It is one of the pathways through which Arts House commissions work for its presentation seasons.
Selected projects receive fees, studio time, technical equipment and expertise to support the development of new work.
The Warehouse Residency celebrates the development of new creative work led by deaf and disabled artists. Now in its third year, Arts House is partnering with Arts Centre Melbourne through its Alter State festival to commission two projects for development at Arts House in a supported residency model between 2024 – 2025. The commission includes up to $30,000 residency fees, $10,000 producing fees, $5,000 access budget and $2,000 towards artistic peer support. Arts House and Arts Centre Melbourne also offer a range of bespoke professional and career development opportunities to selected artists to develop their practice while in residence. Outcomes of the residency include a work in progress showing during the residency period and participation in public artist talks during Alter State, 2 – 13 October, 2024.
Arts House and Arts Centre Melbourne support the intersectionality of lived experiences and strongly encourage deaf and disabled people who belong to additional marginalised communities to apply.
“We believe experimental approaches, led by artists and embedded across institutions, can solve the great issues of our time: questions of our history, economy, ecology and technology,” Arts House states in its call-out.
EOIs are open until Tuesday January 23. Just go here to apply.
