The Australian Ballet has announced its 2025 regional tour, bringing a program featuring both established repertoire and new works to audiences outside of major metropolitan areas. The tour will visit Mount Gambier, Warrnambool, Geelong, Wollongong, Orange, Dubbo, and Tamworth.

The program includes The Nutcracker Act II, adapted by Paul Knobloch, providing a familiar classic for audiences. George Balanchine's Allegro Brillante and a Pas de Deux from Diamonds will showcase the company's classical technique. A new commission by Australian choreographer Lucy Guerin, titled Ground Control, offers a glimpse into the contemporary prowess of the company.

Artistic Director David Hallberg commented on the company's commitment to regional engagement, stating, "Taking The Australian Ballet on tour is our way of sharing the magic, bringing audiences a taste of everything we love about this art form, from timeless classics to bold new creations.”

In addition to performances, the tour will feature educational and outreach initiatives for the regional areas. Class on Tour will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the dancers' training, and Youth Masterclasses will offer training opportunities for aspiring dancers. An Emerging Teachers Immersion Program will provide professional development for regional ballet teachers in select locations.

The Australian Ballet's Education and Outreach team will also conduct community engagement programs, including workshops and classes for various age groups, aiming to expand access to dance education in regional communities.

The tour, supported by Principal Partner Telstra and The Australian Ballet School, aims to broaden the company's reach and provide opportunities for regional audiences to experience professional ballet.

Tickets are now available. More information can be found on The Australian Ballet's website regarding performance schedules, educational programs, and ticket sales.
