It’s been a huge 12 months for sixteen year old dancer, Emily Seymour.  She qualified for the finals of 2012 Youth American Grand Prix in New York, won the overall championship at the 2012 Showcase National Dance Championships in Queensland (that win saw her travel to Canada to perform), and was selected as a semi-finalist at the Prix de Lausanne in January of this year.

Now Emily has received an invitation from the director of the Youth America Grand Prix to perform in the finals of the 2013 competition in April.  This invitation is a huge honour as it enables Emily to bypass the audition procedure, based on her performance at the Prix de Lausanne.

Emily will travel to New York with her teacher, Tanya Pearson, and three fellow students of Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy who qualified by audition for the finals.  These students are Anyah Siddall (16), Maddie Peat (18) and Tahlysia Smedley (15).

April will be a big month for Emily as she will also be heading to New Zealand to compete in the Alaina Haines Scholarship.

Emily joined the Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy full time program at the start of 2012.  Prior to that she trained at All Starz Performing Arts (NSW).
