ImPulsTanz 2025: Vienna's Dance Festival Unveils Lineup
The 42nd edition of the ImPulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival promises a vibrant celebration of contemporary dance from 10 July to 10 August 2025. This year's program features world premieres, revivals, and performances by international icons, making Vienna a hub for dance enthusiasts once again.
Among the festival highlights is LEVEL UP by Senegalese-French artist Amala Dianor, blending street dance and acrobatics in free, open-air performances at MuseumsQuartier. Dance legend Pina Bausch’s iconic Café Müller returns, joined by Boris Charmatz’s Aatt enen tionon and herses, duo in a triple-bill evening, CLUB AMOUR. Sasha Waltz’s In Cand Akram Khan’s new work Thikra: Night of Remembering are also set to captivate audiences at the Burgtheater.
The festival extends its reach with performances connected to Johann Strauss 2025 Vienna, including MUSIQUE – In the Spirit of Johann Strauss by Mathilde Monnier and Walzerwut by Eva-Maria Schaller. Chinese dance company TAO Dance Theater and Korean troupe Unplugged Bodies will debut in Vienna, while François Chaignaud's world premiere Último Helecho explores baroque aesthetics and South American mythology.

Over 200 workshops, open-air Public Moves classes, and events like the ImPulsTanz Soçial Weekender provide a chance to engage directly with the festival’s dynamic atmosphere.
