Tessa Redman's 'LOVE/LOVE/LOVE/LOVE/LOVE'

The Melbourne Fringe Festival (Oct 3 - 22) is gearing up to be huge: all sorts of genre-defying events are listed on the website, with 41 listed under dance alone. Performances are scattered over an assortment of venues, such as Dancehouse, the Meat Market and the Temperance Hall, but also at more unusual venues such as the Melbourne Baths.

One solo show is coming to Melbourne from New Zealand via its premiere at the Sydney Fringe Festival (Sep 1-30). Called
LOVE/LOVE/LOVE/LOVE/LOVE, it is choreographed and performed by Tessa Redman. She is a 2019 graduate of the New Zealand School of Dance, a recent alumnus of École Philippe Gaulier in France and received the SYNZ Tour Ready Award at the 2023 New Zealand Fringe Festival. She now works with a particular interest in "the art of love as a performative practice within physical theatre works" and promises that LOVE/LOVE/LOVE/LOVE/LOVE  "is a feminist frenzy using romance as a lens to explore compassion, hysteria, and sensitivity".
