Phluxus2 Dance Collective is proud to announce that its independDANCE Project turns 10 this year. To celebrate, it is expanding the project to the Sunshine Coast.

indepenDANCE offers independent artists access to space, resources and daily training to create, explore, share, “shatter and collaborate on new work in a creative development intensive, culminating in an open showing,” as the organisers say.

Phluxus2 was founded in 2006 by Nerida Matthaei and is based in Brisbane. It has served as a platform and support organisation in the creation and nurturing of many independent choreographers and their works. The indepenDANCE program provides training and mentorship with Matthaei and other leading artists.

Phluxus is now calling for EOIs from Sunshine Coast artists. Submissions must be received by midnight on July 20 and rehearsals and a showing will take place in October. Submissions from Brisbane artists will be invited soon.
