Thanks to a new initiative from Tasdance, dance artists and choreographers around Australia have the opportunity to apply for the new Tasdance Residency for Independent Practice (TRIP). Hosted by Tasdance at their premises in Launceston, TRIP is an artist-in-residence program intended for both project-based and research-based residencies.
TRIP takes advantage of Tasdance’s unique situation and superb facilities. The Tasdance studio and cottage are located amidst tranquil gardens, providing resident artists with space and time for reflection, invigoration, collaboration and response.
Australian dance artists and choreographers are invited to submit a proposal for a residency which may include developing a new dance work, investigating some aspect or idea in their dance practice or undertaking choreographic or other research. Each resident artist will be offered up to three weeks between September and November 2013 with access to both the Tasdance Studio and Cottage free-of-charge.
