The prestigious Prix de Lausanne starts this week!
Held annually in Switzerland, this year's event has a glittering line-up of international dance stars on its artistic team: watching, coaching and deciding on the winners. Among them are Elizabeth Platel, Director of the Paris Opera Ballet; Julio Bocca, former principal dancer American Ballet Theatre, Monique Loudieres, formerly Paris Opera Ballet; Nicholas le Riche, Artistic Director, Royal Swedish Ballet and Yoel Carreno, formerly National Ballet of Cuba and now Professor at the Oslo School of the Arts, Norway.
Overseeing the contemporary variations are Lakey Evans-Pena, Associate Director at the Ailey School, and George Garcia Perez, Former Soloist, Ballett Theater Basel, among others.
The former Royal Ballet superstar ballerina, Darcey Bussell, is the president of the Jury, and the Italian ballerina Alessandra Ferri, Prize Winner at the Prix de Lausanne in 1980 and the newly director of the Vienna State Ballet, will be a special guest. She is being honoured by the Prix with a 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award.
The 2024 competition received 425 applications in total, with 88 candidates selected to attend the event in person, including seven Australians and two New Zealanders.

Audiences from all over the world are invited to enjoy the competition as well as original content with live commentary from Lausanne. The finals, which are already sold out, will be held on Saturday February 6.
A "best of" the finals, which reunites the finalists and prize winners, will be held on the fourth of February, including guest dancers Madison Young and Julian Mackay, former prize winners.
