ADA offers elite training in classical ballet and contemporary, providing talented dance students with the necessary coaching to pursue a career in Classical Ballet or Contemporary Dance.

Students are trained in the Royal Academy Of Dance as well as Vaganova method of classical ballet. ADA offers a range of specialised training programs from Tiny Tots Program and after school programs, part time programs all the way to our comprehensive Full-Time Program.

ADA specialises in nurturing the individual talent and needs of each of the students in a caring and supportive environment.

ADA graduates have been accepted into prestigious ballet and contemporary schools all around the world, including: Alberta Ballet School, Ballet De Catalunya Trainee, Brussels International Ballet, Ballet Academy East, Pittsburgh Ballet, Hamburgh Contemporary, Conservatório International de Ballet e dança Annarella, Joffrey, Elmhurst Ballet,  Australian Ballet School, New Zealand School of Dance, Rambert Ballet School, London Contemporary Ballet School, School of Contemporary Dancer Berlin, Royal Conservatory of the Hague, European School of Ballet, Hungarian dance university, and Royal Ballet School of Antwerp.

Courses

Full-Time Program: Boutique programs have been developed with the aim to nurture, support and train talented young dancers in Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance and supporting styles. The Academy has been established for teaching excellence, delivered in purpose built studio facilities located in Adamstown, Newcastle, New South Wales. The Academy provides students with access to professional, highly qualified, experienced and dedicated teachers who are committed to training and developing dancers, supporting and encouraging them to achieve their goals and reach their full potential. Ablaze Dance Academy’s Classical Ballet Full Time & Part Time Programs have been designed to advance artistic male and female dancers considering a career in ballet. Designed for talented and dedicated students from 13 years of age,  dancers are given the extensive training and preparation required to join a renowned classical or contemporary dance institution overseas. Full-time students may choose to gain a Certificate III in Dance, and/or Certificate IV in Dance or in Dance Teaching and Management through ATOD RTO31624.

Part Time Programs are available for 11-13 year old students. With specialised coaching classes in classical ballet and contemporary are in addition to our evening classes, allowing a smooth transition into the full-time program.

Main subjects: Classical ballet (RAD, open classes), pointe, repertoire, pas de deux, contemporary, jazz, character dance, improvisation, body conditioning (including cardio and pilates).

Practical dance classes per week: Full-time Program: 35 hours per week.

Part-Time Program: up to 20 hours per week.

Pre-requisites/entry requirements: All Full-Time applicants must have previous ballet training at an advanced level. Entry is by private or DVD audition only.

Main teachers: Bergen Lavelle, Emilio Pavan, Zoe Jones, Isabella D’Accione, Claudia Nicholson, Lauren Michelle. Guest teachers and choreographers.

Audition date: By appointment only.

Scholarships or subsidies: ADA has a limited number of scholarships available for particularly talented and dedicated students.

Distance Education fees are through the Cairns School of Distance Education or your chosen schooling option.

Possible career options: Full-time students are encouraged to audition for large training institutions attached to companies in Australia and overseas.
